Rangers second baseman Rougned Odor has been suspended for eight games as a consequence of his central role in Sunday's brawl with Jose Bautista and the Blue Jays, according to MLB Network's Jon Heyman.

Odor will appeal, according to Heyman, which may lead to his suspension being reduced. Per the collective bargaining agreement, Odor would be allowed to continue playing while his appeal was pending. As previously noted, Odor expressed no regrets about punching Bautista and said he expected to be suspended for it.

Here's a look back at the brawl in question:

Odor, 22, is batting .278/.305/.487 in 164 plate appearances this season.

Considering the breadth of the brawl and the number of participants, additional suspensions may be forthcoming. Odor's, however, will surely be the longest.
